Despite being the longest month ever January was a strong month for club members. January classes are always busy as everyone starts the year with good intentions and this January has been no exception.
A successful induction meant we welcomed new club members and have started a new progression. Our focus this term is squats and we have been working hard on technique and gradually increasing the weight.
The premium group membership is also progressing well and everyone is focused and working hard to reach their goals. if you are interested in making some long term sustainable change in time for the summer with a view to reducing your body weight and losing some weight then this group is for you.
The photo below shows the progress one club member has made since starting!

Our club member of the month for January, and the first one of 2024, is going to someone who has made huge progress since joining the club 18 months ago.
Having not lifted a kettlebell before she has quite literally gone from strength to strength.
I am delighted to announce that the first Hels Bells club member of 2024 goes to Emma E.

Emma is a pleasure to coach. She is determined and hard working. Wanting to make progress and keen to improve her technique. She is diligent every step of the way and keen to get things right.
Since training with the club, Emma’s kettlebell knowledge has increased hugely, she has committed to sessions on a regular basis and has gradually seen great improvements in both her technique and strength.
She is confident swinging a two handed heavy kettlebell and has great technique with her squat. Despite finding the press a challenging move. Emma’s determination has shone through and she is pressing heavier and heavier.

In recent weeks Emma has had some shoulder niggles but she has continued to train throughout and is happy for the session to be adapted in order to allow her to continue to attend and take part. It’s always frustrating when you get injured but persevering and being prepared to adapt, means Emma’s strength won’t be compromised.
Emma juggles a busy job alongside other sporting hobbies, including cycling but what’s she’s realised since starting kettlebells is her new found strength supports her with her other sports and she has commented on how much stronger she feels.
Emma it is a pleasure to coach and support you at evening classes and I am loving watching you improve and lift heavier weights.
Congratulations on being the first club member of the month for 2024! Here’s to a strong year ahead.
